Moving on from content and context let’s begin to consider the relationships. In the previous examples, the links have simply been attributes. However when undertaking cognitive and cause mapping the arrows have a particular meaning – that of causality – A may lead to B, or this ‘Option’ may lead to this ‘Outcome’ or this ‘Means’ may lead to this ‘End’. However the direction of the arrow will depend on the value system of the individual (or group) being mapped. Let’s consider Fig. 4.6.
